Lake Bolsena has 114 square kilometers of surface and it is the largest volcanic lake in Europe. The waters of Lake Bolsena are always clean, due to the absence in the surroundings of polluting industries and the presence of numerous underwater springs. A perfect place for swimming and water sports.

In a few minutes you can reach the magical town Civita di Bagnoregio. The town is situated in a vast canyon ruled by wind and erosion. The saddle of earth that once connected Civita to its bigger and busier sister town, Bagnoregio, has worn away. Photographs around town show the old donkey path that once linked the hamlets. Today, the only way in or out is by a footbridge.

Don’ t miss a walk nearby in Viterbo.

The “City of the Popes” (in memory of the period in which the papal seat was just moved to this city), capital of ancient Etruscan origin and of great historical traditions, preserves a monumental structure among the most important of Lazio: aristocratic palaces, monuments rich in works of art of great interest, suggestive medieval neighborhoods, churches and cloisters of various eras, slender towers and elegant fountains in peperino (the typical stone of the Viterbo buildings).
